Winter vacation: Chandigarh schools to remain closed till January 8
Chandigarh, January 3: As severe cold wave conditions grip North India, winter vacation in Chandigarh schools has been extended. Now, schools in the UT will remain closed till January 8.
The District Education Officer, Chandigarh on Monday extended winter vacation owing to dense fog and extreme weather conditions in all Government/Government Aided/Unaided private recognized schools.
Meanwhile, India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted "Dense to very dense fog and cold day conditions" in Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for the next five days.
"Dense to very dense fog and cold day conditions very likely to continue over plains of northwest India(Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar )during next 5 days," a tweet by IMD read.
