PTC Web Desk: In a remarkable Diwali celebration, Wave Estate Sector 85 in Mohali took an innovative approach this year by organising a two-day exhibition aimed at promoting local entrepreneurs. The event, held at Wave Estate, offered a platform for residents and those from surrounding areas to showcase their startups, allowing them to connect with the community while contributing to the festive spirit.

What made this Diwali Fest unique was the opportunity for home-based startups to set up stalls and display their products. From artisanal bakery items to customised candles, clothing, and personalised stationery, the exhibition attracted a wide variety of local businesses. Notably, the participation fee for the stalls were kept at a nominal rate, encouraging a larger number of small business owners to take part without financial strain.

A special section of the exhibition was dedicated to food stalls, featuring a range of delectable cuisines for visitors to enjoy. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by a variety of games and activities organised for children, such as painting, rangoli making, and Diya decoration. These activities allowed children to explore their creative sides while engaging with the Diwali theme.

In addition to the children’s activities, the event featured numerous attractions for people of all ages. Fun games such as Tambola, fashion hunts, and singing competitions were organised. The blend of cultural activities and community-driven stalls ensured that the two-day exhibition was a memorable experience for everyone.

While the primary focus was on the residents of Wave Estate, the exhibition welcomed visitors from all over the Tricity, offering a chance for interaction between the local community and outsiders.

Mohali SDM Damandeep Kaur was the special guest on Day 2. In her address, she praised the organising team for their efforts in bringing the community together and providing a platform for budding entrepreneurs. The SDM particularly appreciated the hard work and dedication of the organising committee, including Varun Vadudeva, Akhilesh Pratap Singh, Arun Kukkar, Shweta Shukla, Dinesh Wadhwa, Kiran Paul, Praveen Jindal, Sushil Batra, Sanjay Soni, Nidhi Joshi, and Jitendra Chaudhary.

On the last day, a play by a team of Brahmkumaris on drug abuse was the main attraction.
