The Tribune regrets error after PTC Network flags wrong news
PTC News Desk: A day after, The Tribune published a news item claiming that PTC Network rose to nearly Rs 1,000 crore from a humble beginning with a capital of less than Rs 3 crore, PTC Network on Thursday filed a legal notice against The Tribune over the defamatory report.
The newspaper on Thursday issued ‘corrigendum’ and alleged that The Kendri Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Chandigarh, in its report submitted at the Akal Takht in May 2022 stated that the channel grew to nearly Rs 1,000 crore from a humble beginning with a capital of less than Rs 3 crore.
PTC Network MD, Rabindra Narayan said The Tribune will have to pay for the mischievous and malafide report. "Now @thetribunechd quotes some sham unauthenticated report to justify their mischievous and malafide report. They have accepted that there was no sub-committee formed by Akal Takht as alleged by them but they still did not admit that their headline and factually wrong story of PTC Network “capital seeing a meteoric rise” is also their mistake and done with bad intent without any verification! What a come down for #thetribune . They will have to pay for their intentional mistakes!," he tweeted.
Notably on Wednesday, The PTC Network has sent a 10-crore legal notice to The Tribune for allegedly tarnishing the channel's reputation. Now @thetribunechd quotes some sham unauthenticated report to justify their mischievous and malafide report.
