'In every life I am granted, I'll always fight for farmers' rights', reads suicide note found from Resham Singh's pocket at Shambhu
PTC Web Desk: A suicide note has been found in the possession of Resham Singh, who tragically ended his life by ingesting pesticide at the Shambhu Border on Thursday. The note, written by Singh, conveyed his profound frustration with both the Central and Punjab governments.
In his final message, Resham Singh expressed that his death was a sacrifice aimed at drawing attention to the struggles faced by farmers. The note also referenced jagjit Singh Dallewal, a key leader in the farmers' protest movement, and reaffirmed the farmers' determination to continue their fight for agricultural rights.
Resham Singh wrote, “In every life I am granted, I will always fight for farmers' rights,” resonated deeply in his message.
The victim leaves behind his mother, wife Davinder Kaur, and son Inderjeet Singh. Members of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee visited the grieving family, holding the government accountable for the tragic loss. According to the committee, Singh had been burdened by a debt of approximately Rs 8 lakh, but despite his struggles, he had never lost hope.
Singh was an active participant in the ongoing farmers' protest at the Shambhu Border against the controversial agricultural laws.
