Successful 5-day Ramleela celebration concludes with Ravan Dahan at Wave Estate, Mohali

Mohali: The Wave Estate, Sector 85, Mohali, witnessed the grand completion of a 5-day Ramleela, culminating in a spectacular Ravan Dahan. The Ramleela, known for its lively performances and vibrant portrayal of Lord Ram's epic journey, was the talk of the town.

Each night drew large crowds, eager to witness the unfolding of the Ramayana, making it one of the most successful cultural events in the region.

The Ramleela's charm lay not only in its storytelling but also in the diverse backgrounds of its performers. Characters were brought to life by individuals from various professions, including doctors, chartered accountants, IT professionals, auditors, and more. Despite their demanding careers, these actors dedicated themselves to the role, earning widespread appreciation for their performances.

Chairperson of the Ramleela and Dussehra Welfare Committee, Gajindra Vashisht, played a pivotal role in the success of the event. He ensured that each performer underwent rigorous rehearsals, honing their skills to bring authenticity to their characters. “It was hard to believe that the same individuals, who manage their professional responsibilities during the day, could transform into such convincing characters at night,” said Vashisht, highlighting the dedication of the actors.

The committee president, Varun Vasudev, expressed his pride in the performances, commending the actors for their passion and commitment. “Our performers put their heart and soul into every role, fully immersing themselves into the characters from the Ramayana. Each scene concluded with rounds of applause, a testament to the audience's appreciation and the actors’ hard work,” he remarked.

Vasudev also used the Ramleela platform to convey a message of celebrating a Green Diwali, emphasising the importance of sustainability and eco-friendly practices. Through the life lessons drawn from Lord Ram’s story, he encouraged the audience to embrace a greener lifestyle, aligning with the teachings of the festival.

Varun Vasudev extended heartfelt thanks to SDM Damandeep Kaur and MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib Malwinder Kang for their support in spreading the message of the Ramleela to a broader audience. He also thanked the police force for cooperation and maintaining law and order at Wave Estate.

The Ramleela at Wave Estate was more than just a reenactment of an age-old epic; it was a celebration of tradition, community spirit, and the enduring.

The success of this year’s Ramleela has set a new benchmark for cultural events in the area, and the Ramleela and Dussehra Welfare Committee is already looking forward to making next year’s celebration even more memorable.
