PTC Web desk: In a major breakthrough in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, one of the key accused, Jeewanjot Singh Chahal, has been apprehended at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport while attempting to flee the country. Acting on a lookout notice, the airport authorities detained Chahal and alerted the Mansa Police, who had been actively pursuing him.
According to official sources, a police team led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) has left for Delhi to take custody of the accused. Once brought back to Mansa, Chahal will be presented before the local court, following which the police are expected to seek his remand for further interrogation.
The Mansa police had earlier issued a lookout circular against Jeewanjot, who had been on the run since the brutal murder of popular Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, widely known as Sidhu Moosewala.
The singer was tragically shot dead on May 29, 2022, in Jawahar Ke village of Mansa district. A case was registered at City-1 Police Station, and Jeewanjot Singh was named as one of the accused in the FIR.
