Man opens fire at SAD's Sukhbir Singh Badal, accused arrested
PTC News Desk: In a major security breach, shots have been fired at SAD's Sukhbir Singh Badal while he was undergoing religious penance at Sri Darbar Sahib in Amritsar. The incident took place inside the premises of Golden temple on Wednesday morning.
The accused has been identified as Narayan Singh Chaura who has previously been incarcerated in several cases and has remained underground. At the time of the incident, Narayan Singh Chaura was standing close to Sukhbir Singh Badal. When opened fire at Sukhbir Badal, a ‘sewadar’ standing nearby pushed his hand toward upside, saving the SAD leader.

However he was nabbed by the security personnel on the spot and has been arrested. Several Akali leaders including Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema and Bikram Singh Majithia have slammed Punjab government over the law and order situation in the state.
Sukhbir Singh Badal along with other Akali Dal leaders have been directed to undergo religious penance owing to religious misconduct during their tenure from 2007 to 2017.
