During the meeting, the toll workers said that in the past few days on the pretext of closure of tolls, the toll workers have been severely assaulted by the farmers and were resorted to hooliganism. They further said that not only this but the farmers also abused the women working at the toll.

This entire incident forced the toll workers to meet the administration, they said.

The toll workers while expressing their resentment said that if the administration fails to take any action against farmers by December 20, then they will start protesting across the Punjab.

The workers working at Chaulong toll plaza said that the SHO of Tanda also misbehaved with the toll workers along with the farmers.

While submitting a demand letter, toll workers have demanded that the farmers must be removed from the site so that they can resume their work.

The toll plaza at Lachowal village on Hoshiarpur-Tanda has been closed since 12 midnight on December 14. Hoshiarpur-Tanda BOT. has expired and the government has not extended the period of toll plaza further.
