Punjab Weather update: Heavy rainfall lashed Punjab on Sunday, waterlogging several parts of the state including Jalandhar, Rupnagar, Mohali and others.
Though the sky appears clear on Tuesday, the IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Punjab on August 14. According to the weather department, heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan until August 18. Haryana is likely to witness heavy downpours until August 16.
According to IMD, cyclonic circulation in northeast Rajasthan has influenced weather patterns, while the monsoon trough remains close to its typical position. As a result, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh are expected to see isolated heavy rainfall until August 17.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued another alert for heavy rain in various Punjab regions. The department predicts moderate to heavy rain in the state's Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Ropar districts. Chandigarh is also likely to witness rainfall in the next one to two days.
On the other hand, heavy downpours have caused difficulties in Haryana. In addition, many villages in Yamunanagar have been flooded as a result of the Som River's breach. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for Haryana over the next two days. An orange rain alert has been issued in Himachal Pradesh.
