According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a new Western Disturbance will become active over the Himalayan region from April 16, which will impact Punjab’s weather conditions. Over the next four days, maximum temperatures across the state are expected to rise by 5 to 6 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for a heatwave from April 16 onwards, which will be in effect for three days. The forecast indicates that the weather will remain dry on April 14, 15, 16, and 17. However, light to moderate rainfall is expected at isolated places on April 18, 19, and 20.

The maximum temperature rose by 2.6°C in the past 24 hours, though it still remains 0.8°C below normal.
