Punjab Weather | IMD issues yellow alert in THESE districts of Punjab; temp drops significantly

Punjab Weather | Punjab witnessed a significant shift in its weather dynamics. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast, indicating the imminent arrival of heavy rainfall. The weather forecasts issued a heavy rain alert, signalling a notable shift in state's weather dynamics 

This shift has provided significant relief from the scorching heat experienced earlier, as today’s weather offered a break from the intense sun. 


The recent rainfall in various districts of Punjab led to a noticeable drop in the maximum temperature, which has decreased by 2.6 degrees Celsius. 

Rain alert in these districts of Punjab 

The Meteorological Department issued a moderate rain alert for Budhlada, Sardulgarh, Lehra, Mansa, Sunam, Moonak, Patara, and Talwandi Sabo. Strong winds are expected to blow at speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometres per hour, accompanied by lightning. 

Additionally, there is a possibility of light rain in Sangrur, Barnala, Tapa, Dhuri, Moonak, Samana, Patiala, Nabha, Malout, Bathinda. 

Yellow alert in these districts of Punjab 

A yellow weather alert has been issued for four districts in Punjab: Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, and Rupnagar. These areas may experience rain, hail, and strong winds, along with a drop in temperature. 

Meanwhile residents welcomed the rain and said that it would give some relief to the farmers and also reduce pollution in the city. Residents of the tricity witnessed cloudy skies, thunderstorms, rainfall, and brisk winds over the next four days.
