Punjab Rains | Residents of Punjab woke up to pleasant weather as rainfall graced the state on Tuesday morning, offering respite from the sweltering heat. 

The monsoon has finally arrived in Punjab and is steadily advancing across the state, bringing heavy rainfall in various regions across the state. 


This shift has provided significant relief from the scorching heat experienced earlier, as today’s weather offered a break from the intense sun. 

The Meteorological Department reported that several cities including Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Patiala, Faridkot, Mohali, SBS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Ambala, Narnaul, Rohtak, Yamunanagar, and Panchkula is experiencing heavy rainfall since morning. 


   


Rain alert in THESE 14 districts of Punjab 


The weather forecasts issued a heavy rain alert, signalling a notable shift in the state's weather dynamics and the Meteorological Department forecasts issued heavy rain alert for several days in Punjab. 

Orange Alert in Punjab 

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall, hailstones, thunderstorms and windy waves in 7 districts of Punjab - Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala, and SAS Nagar.

Yellow Alert in Punjab 

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an yellow alert for heavy rainfall, hailstones, thunderstorms and windy waves in 7 districts of Punjab - Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, and Malerkotla.

Residents welcomed the rain and said that it would give some relief to the farmers and also reduce pollution in the city. Residents of the tricity witnessed cloudy skies, thunderstorms, rainfall, and brisk winds. 

However, the weather department advised residents to stay informed and take necessary precautions as the monsoon continues to spread across Punjab.
