The winner of lottery Harpinder Singh is a resident of Barwa village in Nurpur Bedi, who works as a truck driver in Kuwait and had bought the ticket for Rs 500 when he was home for holidays.

Punjab: Truck driver hits jackpot lottery of Rs 10 crore, highest amount offered so far

PTC News Desk: A truck driver in Punjab has won a lottery of whooping 10 crore  in the Punjab State Dear Lohri Makar Sankranti Bumper-2025 and the results for the same were announced on Saturday. 


The winner of lottery Harpinder Singh is a resident of Barwa village in Nurpur Bedi, who works as a truck driver in Kuwait and had bought the ticket for Rs 500 when he was home for holidays. Singh who has been buying lottery ticket for the past 15 years had finally hit the jackpot of Rs 10 crore.

So far this is the biggest prize money offered in lottery in Punjab so far. 

“I cannot believe my luck. It is by sheer grace of God that I have won such a big amount. I feel one should buy a ticket at least once in their lifetime,” says an elated Harpinder.

As overwhelmingly joyous Harpinder was elated to receive the news of hitting the jackpot he also recalled the day when he stepped out with his family to buy the ticket from a vendor at the Old Bus Stand.

Harpinder now plans to use this money to set up a business for his son and secure his future. His son Devinder Singh’s left arm had to be amputated following a brutal accident. Besides setting up business for his son, Singh also mulls over settling the debt.
