Punjab: Masked assailants attack woman sarpanch’s husband in Mansa
PTC Web Desk: A late-night attack by masked assailants left Soni Singh, the husband of village sarpanch Simar Kaur, critically injured. The incident took place in Mansa Khurd village, where the attackers allegedly assaulted him with sticks and sharp weapons.
According to sarpanch Simar Kaur, her husband, a farmer, had gone to work in the fields as usual. When he did not return home by evening, she called him, only to learn that he had been attacked. He was immediately rushed to Mansa Civil Hospital.
As per reports, his condition remains critical and that he is undergoing treatment. Soni Singh had previously received threats from certain miscreants, it is learnt.
Villagers have demanded swift action from the police, seeking immediate arrest of the accused. Sarpanch Simar Kaur has also appealed for prompt police intervention. Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation and are actively searching for the attackers.
