Punjab again reshuffles SIT probe team for Col Bath assault case; new head appointed
PTC Web Desk: The Punjab Government has once again reshuffled the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the assault case of Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath. ADGP AS Rai has been appointed as the new head of the SIT, replacing ADGP SPS Parmar, who was recently posted as Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau.
Despite the leadership change, SSP Sandeep Malik and SP Manpreet Singh will continue as SIT members. This marks the fourth alteration in the SIT composition, raising concerns over the stability of the investigation.
The case pertains to an incident on the night of March 13-14, when Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son were allegedly assaulted at a roadside eatery near Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala.
The frequent changes in the SIT leadership have drawn public and political attention, with calls for a transparent and efficient investigation.
