Punjab roll backs decision to remove Manisha Gulati as chairperson of women panel
Chandigarh, February 15: The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann withdraws the order to remove Manisha Gulati from post of chairperson of Punjab State Commission for Women.

The withdrawal order came after Manisha Gulati approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging the order of her removal during her tenure’s extended period.
The court passed the statement that Manisha Gulati was appointed through proper procedure on March 13, 2018 for three years. Through an order, her tenure was extended till March 2024.
In the meanwhile, Punjab Government also informed the Punjab and Haryana High Court about the withdrawal order.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal said that, “They respected the High Court order but Manisha Gulati will again be removed from the post.”
Earlier, on February 1, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab ordered to remove the state women’s commission chairperson Manisha Gulati from her post by withdrawing a 2020 letter that granted her a three-year extension.
