Punjab: G Nageswara Rao removed as Vigilance chief after 37 days, Surinderpal Singh Parmar to take charge

PTC Web Desk: The Punjab Government has removed G Nageswara Rao from his position as the Chief Director of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, Punjab, just 37 days after his appointment. He has now been assigned the role of ADGP Provisioning. In his place, IPS officer Surinderpal Singh Parmar has been appointed as the new Chief Director of the Vigilance Bureau.

According to sources, the state Home Department issued transfer orders for both senior officers on administrative grounds. IPS Surinderpal Singh Parmar, who earlier served as the ADGP Law and Order, Punjab, has now been given charge of the Vigilance Bureau.



Both officers have been directed to assume their new responsibilities at the earliest. Notably, before his recent role, Surinderpal Singh Parmar also served as the Inspector General (IG) of the Border Range.
