Punjab DGP introduces new system to fast-track HC proceedings; links police stations to AG office

Punjab | In a significant move, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab has issued an office order to implement a new system to fast-track High Court proceedings and links police stations to Advocate General's Office.

If this system is implemented, it will reduce the number of police officers and personnel required to appear in the High Court daily.

Currently, more than two hundred police officers and personnel from across Punjab visit the High Court daily. With the implementation of the new system , this number is expected to decrease significantly.

The new advocacy system will link all police stations in Punjab to the Advocate General's Office.

This linkage is particularly beneficial for the advocacy of criminal cases, ensuring better coordination between the Punjab Police and the Advocate General

Haryana Government has already adopted the system several years ago and now the Punjab Government has also issued orders to adopt the new advocacy system.

This system to also enhance the efficiency of legal proceedings and will improve the coordination between the Punjab Police and the Advocate General's Office, leading to more effective advocacy of government cases.
