Punjab: Mother, lover arrested in Mohali for sexually assaulting 3-year-old girl
PTC Web Desk: In a shocking case from Mohali, a 30-year-old man posing as a police official and the mother of a three-year-old girl have been arrested for alleged sexual assault of the child. The crime came to light when the victim’s father discovered disturbing video evidence on a mobile phone and immediately reported it to the police.
The accused, identified as Ranjit Singh, a resident of Mansa district, was in a relationship with the child’s mother. According to the police, both suspects were involved in deeply disturbing acts against the child, which they also recorded on video.
After receiving the father’s complaint, the police arrested both accused and registered a case under Sections related to child protection, impersonation of a government officer, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The duo has been remanded to one-day police custody for further investigation.
Investigations revealed that Ranjit Singh falsely claimed to be a police official, often wearing a uniform and posting videos with weapons on social media.
The victim’s father alleged that Ranjit had threatened him, warning of serious consequences if he reported the crime.
