Bhagwant Mann hospitalised:  Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali on Thursday, as per information from the CM's office. The office confirmed that the Chief Minister would be discharged after a few more necessary tests.

Security at the hospital has been tightened, although both the hospital administration and the Punjab Government have not disclosed the exact reason for the emergency admission. Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia extended his best wishes for CM Mann's speedy recovery.

Earlier, reports had surfaced about CM Mann's health deteriorating after his return from Delhi. Following Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal's release from jail, there were claims that CM Mann had fallen ill and had to be taken back to Delhi. However, the CM's office denied these reports.

Responding to critics during a rally in Bathinda, Punjab CM Mann had said, "If I bend down to tie my boot, they say Bhagwant Mann has fallen. But I will not fall like that, I will get to the root of the problem.” He added that his opponents were not afraid of him but of the people who supported him.

This is not the first instance of CM Mann being hospitalised. In July 2022, he was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi after suffering severe abdominal pain. He was treated for a stomach infection by a gastroenterologist at that time.

CM Mann has been one of AAP's star campaigners in the ongoing Haryana Assembly elections. He has been actively campaigning for over a month, as the party plans to contest all 90 seats in Haryana. CM Mann’s in-laws are from Pehowa in Haryana, and he holds significant influence over constituencies close to Punjab border.
