Punjab: BSF recovers heroin, weapons after gunfight with Pak smugglers
Gurdaspur, February 18: The Border Security Force troops deployed at Gurdaspur border once again foiled the nefarious designs of smugglers to smuggle contrabands.
The BSF troops deployed at the Dera Baba Nanak area, Shikar in the Gurdaspur sector of Punjab detected suspicious movement of armed smugglers at around 05:30 am on Saturday morning.

Detecting the moment of Pakistani smugglers, BSF opened fire and following this cross-firing took place from other side too.
However, due to the foggy weather and low visibility, Pakistani smugglers managed to escape from the India-Pakistan border.
Meanwhile, the BSF troops recovered 20 packets of suspected heroin wrapped in yellow tapes, Chinese and Turkey-made pistols, 242 rounds of ammunition, magazines, along with one 12-feet long plastic pipe after gunfight at India-Pak border.
