Punjab: BSF, Punjab Police recover drone, heroin from Tarn Taran’s Wan village

PTC News Desk: A joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police, on Saturday recovered another nefarious attempt of smugglers in Punjab’s Tarn Taran’s Wan village. 

The drone and consignment of contraband item was recovered near Wan village in Punjab’s Tarn Taran following a search operation launched by BSF and Punjab Police on specific information. 

On October 28 during the morning hours, a joint search operation was launched by BSF and Punjab Police on specific information regarding the presence of a drone on the outskirts of Tarn Taran’s Wan village. 

During the search operation at around 8:30 am, a drone along with 01 battery and 01 packet of contraband items suspected to be Heroin (Gross Wt - 407 Gms) wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, attached with a ring for hanging it with drone from the farming field adjacent of Tarn Taran’s Wan village. 

The recovered drone is a Quadcopter (Model - DJI Mavic 3 Classic, made in China).

BSF Punjab Frontier also took to their official Twitter handle and wrote, “On specific intelligence input, @BSF_Punjab &  @PunjabPoliceInd launched a joint search operation & recovered 01 Pakistani #drone ( quadcopter, model- DJI Mavic 3 Classic) & 01 packet, suspected to contain #heroin (Approx weight- 407 gms) from a field, in the outskirts of Village-Wan, District-Tarn Taran, #Punjab. #AlertBSF #JaiHind”

Yet another attempt of smugglers to smuggle narcotics via drone was foiled by BSF and Punjab Police.
