Punjab: Annual three-day Shaheedi Jor Mela in memory of Sahibzadas begins at Fatehgarh Sahib
Fatehgarh Sahib, December 26: The annual three-day Shaheedi Jor Mela in memory of the younger Sahibzadas of 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, began at Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib on Monday. It will conclude on December 26.
Lakhs of pilgrims from across the world have gathered at Fatehgarh Sahib in memory of the younger Sahibzadas.
Devotees are paying obeisance to Sahibzada Zorawar Singh, Sahibzada Fateh Singh and Mata Gujar Kaur Ji at Gurdwara Thanda Buraj in Fatehgarh Sahib.

Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib, Parneet Shergill said all arrangements were in place to ensure a peaceful conduct of the mela. All wine shops, gambling stalls, pandals, circuses, swings and other sources of entertainment had been banned. There was adequate availability of round-the-clock power supply, besides drinking water, public toilets and medical facilities.
On the other hand, SSP Ravjot Grewal said drones and CCTV cameras had been pressed into service. Five 'Samadhan Kendras' had been set up, apart from nakas, observation posts and police help centres. Traffic diversion routes had also been chalked out for a smooth flow of vehicular movement.

On the other hand, Sikh volunteers are also offering their services Shaheedi Jor Mela. Langars have also been organised en route Fatehgarh Sahib. Some organisations have also put up "Medicine Langar Sewa' for the needy.
