Punjab: 'Yashu Yashu' pastor Bajinder Singh thrashes man, woman; incident caught on camera
PTC News Desk: Punjab based self-styled preacher Bajinder Singh is smeared by another controversy after his video of altercation and thrashing a man and a woman came to light. The video has been doing rounds on social media.
The incident has been captured in CCTV shows Singh initially throwing a pile of paper at a woman who is sitting along with a child in his office. Moments later he can be seen pushing and slapping her as she approaches him. The other people present in the room intervened to mitigate the situation.
The video went viral days after he had been booked in case pertaining to sexual harassment, stalking and criminal intimidation. The complainant, a 22-year-old woman, alleged that Singh had made unwanted advances towards her since she was 17, touched her inappropriately, and even pressured her to marry him despite her being already married.
However, the pastor has denied the allegations, claiming that another pastor plotted a "scandal" against him.
Bajinder Singh, originally from a Hindu Jat family in Yamunanagar, Haryana, embraced Christianity around 15 years ago while incarcerated in connection with a murder case. He attracts thousands of people to his gatherings, where he claims to perform miracle healings. Notably this is not the first time that he has been surrounded by controversies. He has also been jailed for around a decade in a murder case, where he reportedly came into contact with a pastor and became drawn to Christianity.
