PTC News Desk: In a significant development, the newly elected-jailed Parliamentarian from Punjab’s Khadoor Sahib and ‘Waris Punjab De Chief’ Amritpal Singh victory has been challenged in Punjab and Haryana High Court.

An Independent candidate, Vikramjit Singh from the Punjab’s  Khadoor Sahib for the Lok Sabha Election 2024, Singh moved a writ petition before the Punjab and Haryana High Court and raised several allegations regarding the transparency and legality of Amritpal Singh's campaign.

In the petition, Vikramjit Singh alleged that newly elected Member of Parliament, Amritpal Singh did not disclose important information in his nomination form.

He further claimed that Amritpal Singh failed to provide a comprehensive account of his election expenditures. According to Vikramjit, numerous daily meetings were held in support of Amritpal Singh during the election campaign, involving the use of vehicles and election materials, yet no details regarding these expenditures were disclosed.

Vikramjit Singh added that Amritpal Singh did not reveal the source of his campaign funds and accused Amritpal Singh of using religious places for his election campaign, a practice that is prohibited.

Mentioning these allegations, Vikramjit Singh requested Punjab and Haryana High Court to annul Amritpal Singh's election. The court is expected to hear the petition soon, and the outcome could have significant implications for the political landscape in the region.
