Naib tehsildar recruitment scam: Second-rank holder among two arrested
Patiala, November 19 (by Gagandeep Ahuja): Patiala police arrested two persons in the naib tehsildar recruitment scam on Friday, including the second rank holder.
Balraj Singh came second in the exam, the results of which were announced by the Punjab Public Service Commission in October (PPSC).
Verinderpal Chaudhry, who was ranked 21st on the merit list, has also been arrested by the police.
Balraj had previously failed to clear two PPSC exams.
"During interrogation, he admitted to striking a deal to secure the job through a Haryana-based racket," police official informed.
He stated that a report was shared with higher authorities in which it was duly verified that the exam was rigged using cutting-edge technology, some of which were most likely manufactured in China.
