Mohali police summons Partap Bajwa for questioning in 'hand grenade remarks' case on Monday noon

PTC News Desk: The Mohali police has summoned Punjab leader of opposition Partap Bajwa for questioning in remarks indicating presence of bombs in the state. Notably, the Punjab police has registered a case against Bajwa under Sections 353(2) and 197(1) of the BNS.


The notice issued by Mohali SP says, “In pursuance of Sub Section (3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, I hereby inform you that during the investigation of FIR No. 19 dated April 13, 2025 under Sections 353(2) and 197(1) of the BNS registered at Cyber Crime police station, Phase 7, SAS Nagar, it is revealed that there are reasonable grounds to question you to ascertain facts and circumstances in relation to the present investigation. Hence, you are directed to appear before me at the police station concerned on Monday noon.”

Earlier on Sunday, the counter intelligence unit of Punjab arrived at Bajwa's residence to interrogate him into his media interview in which he indicated about presence of bombs in Punjab. The counter intelligence further said that Partap Bajwa however did not cooperate and refused to reveal the source of information despite asking him clear questions.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders and MLAs have extended their support to the state's Leader of Opposition and accused the ruling AAP government of intimidating him.
