Moga Sex scandal: Mohali's CBI sentences former SSP, other police officials to 5 years; Rs 2 lakh fine imposed
PTC News Desk: Mohali's CBI court has pronounced verdict in 18 year old Moga sex scandal case. The court has announced 5 year jail term for the accused police officials along with imposition of Rs 2 lkah fine for each accused.
The accused include the then SSP Davinder Singh Garcha, former SP Headquarters Moga Paramdeep Singh Sandhu, former SHO Police Station City Moga Raman Kumar and the then SHO of Police Station Moga, Police Station City Moga Inspector Amarjit Singh.
Meanwhile the complainant has welcomed the court's decision.
What is Moga sex scandal ?
The case dates back to 2007 when Manjeet Kaur along with her husband and two other minor girls were arrested. However they were released on bail in 2013 and Manjeet Kaur became a government witness.
Manjeet and hus husband's fate were sealed as they were shot dead in 2018 in Zira. The CBI court has now announced the verdict in this case while sentencing them to five years.
