Moga encounter: Criminal arrested from Dehradun injured in police firing as he attempts to flee
Moga encounter: A criminal, who was arrested in Dehradun and brought to Moga in Punjab, opened fire on a police team. In response, the police fired back, injuring the assailant. The criminal was seriously wounded and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment. According to reports, the wanted criminal, Sunil Kumar, a resident of Moga, was arrested by the Moga police in Dehradun on Wednesday. On Thursday, he was taken to MP Basti for the recovery of a pistol in connection with an ongoing investigation. At that location, Sunil Kumar managed to open fire at the police team. Fortunately, the police officials narrowly escaped injury.
Sunil Kumar, who has a criminal history, is involved in 17 criminal cases. SSP Ajay Gandhi confirmed that Sunil Kumar had earlier attacked two brothers in Mohi and had gone into hiding. Following his arrest in Dehradun, Sunil Kumar was taken to MP Basti for further investigation.
While at MP Basti, Sunil Kumar pulled out two pistols and fired twice at the police before attempting to flee. The police responded by firing back, with one bullet striking Sunil Kumar in the leg. He was later taken to a hospital.
