PTC Web Desk: In a significant development in the Jalandhar grenade attack case, the police have uncovered the involvement of a 21-year-old youth, who allegedly supplied weapons to the accused. The suspect’s father is a serving Punjab Police officer.
The attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday, targeting the residence of social media influencer and YouTuber Navdeep Singh Sandhu, also known as Roger Sandhu. A woman and five other accused have been arrested so far.
Among those arrested, two persons have been identified as the main perpetrators, while three others were responsible for providing logistics support. Investigations have also revealed that the arrested woman had hidden the grenade at her residence, allegedly to be used in the attack.
Within just 15 hours, the Punjab Police executed two encounters to apprehend the culprits.
The first encounter took place at the same location where the attack was carried out. In a subsequent operation, the police engaged the suspects near Churwali village in Adampur, leading to the injury of the assailants.
Following the second encounter, the police arrested the primary accused along with two accomplices and a woman. The investigation is ongoing, with officials probing deeper into the network behind the attack.
The police are now focusing on identifying any larger conspiracy and the possible involvement of more persons in the attack.
