Ludhiana: NRI Barindar’s servant, close aide among 6 held for his murder

Ludhiana’s NRI murder case solved: The crime rate in Punjab’s Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day and is also raising questions about the law-and-order situation of the city.

In the major breakthrough, Ludhiana Police cracked the NRI murder case of Barindar Singh and arrested six in the case. 


Ludhiana Police Commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu addressed the press conference on Saturday at 2 pm and divulged more details about the case, Sidhu said that in total six accused were arrested in Ludhiana NRI murder case. 

The servant Bal Singh and friend of deceased Jagraj Singh are the main accused in murder of Barindar Singh 

The servant and Barindar’s friend used to work with NRI in property dealing. 

The police have arrested four other accused Jaspreet Singh, Sohil Ali, Dev Raj and Virinder Singh who committed murder for ransom money. 

Ludhiana police have also recovered weapons, motorcycle and ransom amount of 1 lakh 80 thousand rupees.

Earlier, on Monday, Ludhiana was shaken by the alleged murder of a 42-year-old NRI man as he was returning home on his motorcycle in Thakur Colony.

The victim was identified as Barindar Singh, aged 42.

According to ASI Ravinder Kumar, in charge of the Lalton police post, Barindar Singh, accompanied by his servant, was en route from a farmhouse to his residence in Lalton Kalan when two individuals on motorcycles intercepted them.

The assailants had their faces covered and reportedly launched a vicious attack on the NRI using sharp-edged weapons. Barindar Singh was swiftly rushed to DMC Hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.
