Kapurthala youth dies of heart attack in California just days before wedding
PTC Web Desk: In a heartbreaking incident, a 32-year-old man from Kapurthala district, near Jalandhar, died of a heart attack in California, USA. The news has left his family devastated, as they were eagerly preparing for his wedding, scheduled for October 18. The deceased, Gurjit Singh, son of Gurdev Singh, had relocated to California six months ago. Family members reported that he was making plans to return to Punjab for his wedding when he suffered a fatal heart attack just two days before his flight.
Gurjit’s uncle said, “He was all set to return home to celebrate his wedding. The preparations were in full swing, and now we are left in shock and disbelief.” Gurjit had intended to spend a few days with his family before the big day, but fate had other plans.
While packing his belongings for the trip home, Gurjit visited a local gurdwara to seek blessings. It was there, just moments before heading to the airport, that he suddenly collapsed. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
“We were all excited about the wedding, and now our hearts are heavy with grief. This tragedy has shattered our family. We never imagined such a thing could happen,” said his family back home.
The family has initiated the process of bringing Gurjit’s body back to India.
