Kapurthala murder: Woman, paramour arrested for killing husband, accused befriended each other on Instagram
PTC Web Desk: A woman and her paramour were arrested in Kapurthala for the murder of her husband, Lakhwinder Singh, in a case that highlights the growing influence of social media. Singh, a resident of Phulewal, was attacked on January 12 by two unidentified assailants with sharp weapons while on his way to work. He later died from his injuries on January 14.
The Kapurthala police solved the case within 24 hours. During the investigation, the victim’s wife admitted that she had been in a relationship with Kuldeep Kumar, a resident of Hoshiarpur, whom she had met on Instagram a year ago. The couple had planned to marry, and together, they conspired to murder Lakhwinder Singh.
Kuldeep Kumar, who has three prior criminal cases against him, was also arrested. Both the woman and her lover are currently in police custody. Further investigations are on.
