In a big blow to the Punjab Government, the Punjab and Haryana Court on Wednesday granted relief to 15 people arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in the Jang-e-Azadi memorial case.

Jang-e-Azadi memorial case: Big jolt to Punjab govt as HC grants bail to contractor, 14 officials

Jang-e-Azadi memorial case: In a big blow to the Punjab Government, the Punjab and Haryana Court on Wednesday granted relief to 15 people arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in the Jang-e-Azadi memorial case. 

The High Court granted regular bail to 15 accused, which include several executive engineers, SDOs and contractors.


Those granted bail are: 

Ludhiana-based builder Deepak Singal, Arvinder Singh (chief engineer retired); Tej Ram Katnoria (executive engineer, retired as chief engineer) PWD B&R, Jalandhar; Santosh Raj, executive engineer, electrical division (Retired), Amritsar; Raghwinder Singh, executive engineer; Harpal Singh, SDO; Jatinder Arjun, SDO; Harpreet Singh, JE; Mandeep Singh, JE; NP Singh, executive engineer; Rajat Gopal, SDO; Gauravdeep, JE; Rohit Kondal, JE and Paramjit Singh.

The Vigilance apprehended all those involved on May 22 following the filing of an FIR in this case. The High Court had already granted them interim bail, but today, while hearing their bail petitions, the High Court confirmed their bail orders, providing them major relief.
