Jalandhar: Explosion outside BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia's house sparks panic, probe on: 'Sound of Thunder'
PTC News Desk: A blast was reported outside the residence of former cabinet minister and BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia on Tuesday in Punjab's Jalandhar. Police officials have said that they are monitoring the situation to see whather it was a grenade attack or something else.
The BJP leader is fortunately with no casualties reported. The police officials have launched investigation into the matter the are also scanning the CCTV footage to identify the perpetrator. The forensic teams were also present at the site to collect evidence.
Dhanpreet Kaur, Jalandhar Police Commissioner, said, "Around 1 am, we got information of blast here, after which we reached the spot and started the investigation. The forensic team is investigating the matter...We are also monitoring the CCTV... The forensic team is investigating whether it is a grenade attack or something else..."
Meanwhile, Kalia said that initially he thought that it is a sound of thunder.
"There was a blast at around 1 am...I was sleeping, and I thought that it was the sound of thunder...Later, I was informed that a blast had taken place...after this, I sent my gunman to the police station...CCTV is being investigated; forensic experts are also present here..."
