Dallewal's health worsening; SKM to hold emergency meeting in Chandigarh on Dec 18
PTC Web Desk: The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has called an emergency meeting Kisan Bhawan, Chandigarh, on Wednesday to address pressing issues concerning the ongoing farmers' protest and the health of farmer leader jagjit Singh Dallewal. Initially scheduled for December 24, the meeting was advanced in light of Dallewal’s critical condition.
Notably, it comes close on the heels of debate programme ' Vichar Taqrar' on PTC News on December 16, wherein channel's head and senior editor Harpreet Singh Sahni also rapped farmer leaders for delaying the meeting when Dallewal's health is already worsening.
Today, it was announced that top representatives from SKM's political and strategic leadership will participate in the meeting, which would begin at 2 pm. Following this, at 7 pm , a delegation from the SKM will meet the Governor of Punjab to submit a memorandum of demands.
Key points of discussion will include Dallewal’s health and the situation at the Punjab borders, where protests continue against various unresolved farmer-related issues. The SKM aims to intensify its strategy and dialogue to address these concerns.
On the other hand, Dr Sukhmandeep Singh Dhillon said farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s health had deteriorated significantly, raising serious concerns. Dr Sukhmandeep Singh Dhillon said provided Dallewal was experiencing extreme fatigue and energy depletion.
“He is struggling with basic actions like speaking, opening his eyes, or even moving his body. These activities are causing a significant drop in his energy levels,” Dr Dhillon said.
