Following a brief respite from heat, Punjab is once again grappling with soaring temperatures. Over the last day, the average temperature has risen by 3.2 degrees Celsius, causing the Meteorological Department to issue a heatwave warning for June 24 and 25.

PTC Web Desk: Following a brief respite from heat, Punjab is once again grappling with soaring temperatures. Over the last day, the average temperature has risen by 3.2 degrees Celsius, causing the Meteorological Department to issue a heatwave warning for June 24 and 25.

However, there will be pre-monsoon relief beginning June 26.


According to the IMD's press release dated June 23, "Heat wave conditions very likely in isolated pockets of West Uttar Pradesh during 22nd-25th; over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi on 24th & 25th June and abate thereafter."

According to the extended range forecast for the next five days, the weather department has issued a yellow alert for heatwaves on June 25 and 26. The weather forecast for the next three days predicts mainly cloudy sky with a possibility of light showers and thunderstorms.

In a big relief for the national capital and surrounding areas, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a partly cloudy sky with the potential of very light rain or drizzle in Delhi on Sunday, June 23.

Over the next five days, the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 41 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively. On June 27 and 28, gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are expected to blow over the national capital.
