Harjinder Singh Kukreja among ‘The Sikh 100’ list of world’s most influential, powerful Sikhs

PTC News Desk: Harjinder Singh Kukreja, leading restaurateur, family travel content creator, social activist and media influencer made a debut in the latest 11th edition of ‘The Sikh 100’ list released by ‘The Sikh Group’, a UK-based global Sikh organisation. He has been placed at number 98 out of 100 people selected for the list.

‘The Sikh 100’ is an annual ranking documenting profiles of the most influential Sikhs chosen from around the world and across all sectors, including business, education, media, entertainment, sports and charity. One of the aims of The Sikh 100 is to share these real stories of inspiration so that all generations are encouraged to aim high, be passionate and excel in all aspects of their lives.


Meanwhile, CEO of ‘The Sikh Group’, Dr Navdeep Singh said, “Since we published the first list in 2012, we have received a steady stream of nominations for individuals from all walks of life. We read the stories of the applicants. Like all previous years, the 2023 list includes many high-profile international dignitaries, public figures, community heroes, sports stars, celebrities and businessmen from across the globe."

Navdeep Singh further added that, “The Sikh Group, said the most influential Sikhs were selected out of 26 million community members.”

With millions of followers on social media, Harjinder Singh Kukreja is one of the most followed Sikhs online. He is a renowned restaurateur, a global citizen with strong traditional roots, a variety of interests, with an amazing social media reach of over 4 million combined followers on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. 

Harjinder Singh Kukreja is also a top-notch travel influencer and an ambassador for outbound tourism from India. The Turkish Tourism Board admires Harjinder‘s clout on social media, and he has been invited several times to Turkey to promote their tourism. 

In 2022, he was appointed as the "Cultural Ambassador for India" as part of the celebrations of 75 years of India's independence. Meanwhile, Harjinder was awarded the ‘Jewels of Punjab’ Award in 2019 by India’s former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for his contribution to Sikh and Punjabi culture and its promotion in his typical ways.

The list includes the names of Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami, former CM Capt Amarinder Singh, SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal, Canadian Minister of Defence and MP Harjit Singh Sajjan, DSGMC president Harmeet Singh Kalka, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee former president Satwant Singh, former MP Tarlochan Singh, Pingalwara Society president Dr Inderjit Kaur, Dubai-based social activist SPS Oberoi, US-based EcoSikh president Dr Rajwant Singh, Padma Shri spiritual leaders Baba Sewa Singh Khadoor Sahib and Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale, social activist Ravi Singh of Khalsa Aid, Minister of Seniors from Canada Kamal Kaur Khera; Chief Economist, World Bank, Indermit Singh Gill and film actor Diljit Dosanjh
