Georgia death: Families mourn their loved ones after 11 Punjabis choked to death at a restaurant in Georgia
PTC News Desk: In a tragic turn of events, 11 Indian nations and 1 citizen of Georgia were found dead at a restaurant in Georgia. All the nationals were resident of Punjab. According to the preliminary investigation, no signs of external violence or forced remarks were found on the bodies. On the other hand, carbon monoxide by generator is reportedly the suspected cause of death.
All the deceased were reportedly employees at the restaurant and were sleeping on second floor of the property. The use of generator after a power outage and subsequent carbon monoxide release lead to the death of 12 people who were found unconscious.
The incident has left the families of the victims grief-stricken. The identities of all the victims have not been disclosed yet.
Amongst 11, one deceased has been identified as Sameer Kumar who was a resident of Khanna city in Punjab's Ludhiana district who was shifted to Georgia only six months back. He last had a conversation with the family on his birthday on December 14 which after which the families received no information. Little did they know that this would be the last time they would be speaking to Sameer.
Another deceased was a resident of Jalandhar. He is survived by his wife and 2 kids. His eight year old is still waiting to reunite with his father after eight years.
Another victim identified as Gagandeep Singh was a resident of Punjab's Moga district who used to work in Dubai earlier and shifted to Georgia four months back. Hs is survived by his father. The last contact between the family and Gagandeep was made on December 12, two days before the tragic incident. 24 year old Gagandeep went to Georgia for the betterment of his family however his fate was sealed.
Varinder Singh, another victim of Georgia restaurant death resident of Samana was working as a restaurant manager. H had shifted to Georgia one year ago.
