Former Advocate General of Punjab Hardev Singh Mattewal is no more; condolences pour in
PTC Web Desk: Prominent lawyer and former Advocate General of Punjab Hardev Singh Mattewal passed away, leaving the legal fraternity and political circles in mourning. Known for his close association with former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Mattewal’s contributions to the state's legal system were widely recognised. His son, Pavit Singh Mattewal, is also a renowned lawyer.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed profound grief over Mattewal’s demise. "Punjab’s legal field has suffered an irreparable loss. His wisdom in representing the state in critical matters will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to Pavit Singh Mattewal and the entire Mattewal family. May Waheguru grant them the strength to bear this loss," he said.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Member of Parliament from Bathinda, also extended her condolences. She said, "The demise of former Advocate General Hardev Singh Mattewal is a significant loss to the legal fraternity. Mattewal Sahib was not just a brilliant lawyer but also a distinguished intellectual and strategist. His absence will be deeply felt. My sympathies are with Pavit Singh Mattewal and the entire family during this difficult time."
