Father-son duo murdered over dog dispute in Punjab's Talwandi Sabo; woman critical

PTC Web Desk: In a gruesome incident in Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, Punjab, a man and his son were brutally murdered by a group of drug addicts late Monday evening allegedly over a dog dispute. The assailants, armed with sharp weapons, attacked 32-year-old Amrik Singh outside his home, and when his father, Mander Singh (55), attempted to intervene, he too was murdered. The mother, Darshan Kaur, was also attacked and seriously injured. She is currently in critical condition at a private hospital.

The incident occurred around 9.30 pm when two accused, along with four accomplices, confronted Amrik Singh at the gate of his home. A heated argument ensued over the ownership of a dog, leading to a violent assault with sharp weapons. When Mander Singh tried to save his son, the attackers turned on him. Darshan Kaur, who came to their aid, was also injured in the attack.



It is learnt that the victims had brought home a stray dog, but the accused claimed ownership of the animal. Angered by this, they attacked Amrik Singh.  

Th police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. Bathinda DSP Ishan Singla is leading the investigation. The bodies have been taken for post-mortem, and the police have identified the suspects. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the accused.
