ETT Teachers Protest: Teachers clash with police over unemployment in Sangrur, detained
PTC News Desk: Several teachers have been protesting outside CM Mann's residence in Sangrur against failur of their appointment. 1158 Assistant Professors and the librarian have lodged a strong protest against Punjab chief minister and government.
In wake of the protest, many protestors sat on fast unto death, however later they were detained by Punjab police and reportedly locked them up in different police stations. As per the reports police also resort to lathicharge to disperse the protesting crowd who gheraoed CM Mann's residence.
The unemployed protesting teachers have accused the government of not providing appointment letters to the teachers.
