Double murder in Punjab: Elderly couple brutally killed in fields in Bathinda
PTC Web Desk: A shocking case of a double murder has been reported from Badiyala village near Rampura Phul in Bathinda, Punjab. An elderly couple was brutally killed in their fields. DIG Harjit Singh rushed to the scene after receiving the information and issued necessary directives to local police officials.
The deceased have been identified as 66-year-old Giyas Singh and his 62-year-old wife Amarjeet Kaur. Both were attacked with sharp-edged weapons, and injuries were found on their heads.
A police team, along with CIA staff teams, reached the spot and began an investigation. An FIR has been registered against unknown persons. However, the motive behind the murder remains unclear.
DIG Harjit Singh, who oversees the Bathinda range, inspected the crime scene. According to the police, the couple lived alone in a house located in their fields. The murder came to light late at night.
The police have taken the bodies into custody and initiated further legal proceedings. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances and motive behind the gruesome crime.
