'Dallewal did not end fast-unto death': SKM leaders as they accused govt of spreading misleading information
PTC News Desk: As tension continue to escalate between farmers and Punjab government, farmer leaders have now claimed that jagjit Singh Dallewal has not ended his fast-unto death and accused the state government of spreading misinformation.
While the state government had informed the Supreme Court that Dallewal had ended his indefinite hunger strike, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha had refuted the claims and said that he had refused water since March 19 after the arrest of the farmers and police crackdown at Shambhu and Khanauri Morchas.
“We will state facts before the court. After evicting and arresting farmers from Shambhu and Khanauri borders, the government is spreading misinformation campaigns as anger against the ruling regime is growing in rural areas,” said SKM leaders.
Former DIG Narinder Bhargav and ADGP Jaskaran Singh, appointed as government interlocutors, were seen offering him water, marking the end of his nine-day water abstinence.
Meanwhile, farmer leaders asserted that Dallewal had consumed water and agree to take medical assistance which was halted after the police crackdown on farmers.
“A rumor is being spread that Dallewal has ended his fast. We wish to clarify that Dallewal is continuing his fast unto death.”
