Colonel Bath, wife meet Defence Minister Rajnath Singh over assault case
PTC News Desk: Days after Punjab and Haryana High Court questioned Punjab government over delay in registering FIR, Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath along with his wife met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday.
The family was informed about the meeting two days ago. After the meeting, Col Bath's wife Jaswinder Kaur, reiterated her stance, emphasising that she does not trust the Patiala police and calling for the case to be investigated by an independent agency.
After the meeting, Colonel Bath's wife said that they have been assured that appropriate action will be taken and justice will be served.
"He assured us that we will get justice and the investigation will be conducted... SIT has been changed for the fourth time... While SSP Nanak Singh is afraid of naming a few SHOs in the case, how can we expect him to bring justice to us?... We have faith in the court and the assurance of Rajnath Singh..."

Colonel's wife also informed that they will be meeting Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann regarding the incident and harrassment they have faced.
“We will meet Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tomorrow and see what he says. We have informed Rajnath Singh about the harassment we have faced,” she said.
The Bath couple during the meeting which lasted for 25 minutes, were accompanied by their relative and BJP leader from Patiala, Gurtej Singh Dhillon.
Earlier on Friday, the court reprimanded Punjab government over its response in delay in registration of FIR. The government had cited farmers protest as one of the many reasons for delay. The Bench questioned the police about the number of FIRs registered across Patiala district during the period.
The Bench asked the State to categorically explain whether the action taken so far was sufficient.
