PTC Web Desk: A tense clash broke out in Sector 43 between members of the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha and and Chandigarh Police, leaving several police personnel injured. The situation escalated as farmers joined the protest. The police resorted to using tear gas shells to control the crowd, as the protest turned chaotic. Several demonstrators were taken into custody by the Chandigarh Police.
The atmosphere at the protest site remains highly charged, with heavy police deployment to prevent further unrest.
Notably, Qaumi Insaaf Morcha had planned a march to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann's residence, which led to heavy security deployment. The protesters gathered at Gurdwara Amb Sahib in Phase 8 Mohali, preparing for a march towards the Chief Minister’s residence. In anticipation of the protest, a heavy police presence was deployed outside the gurdwara, with additional forces stationed along the planned route to prevent disruptions.
The police also blocked all major entry points into Chandigarh as a precautionary measure. However, the situation turned tensed, leading to a clash between protesters and the Chandigarh Police.
