X-category CRPF security to Punjab BJP leaders: Centre on Saturday provided X-category CRPF security to four Punjab BJP leaders after an Intelligence Bureau (IB) report indicated a threat.
Ex-Punjab ministers Balbir Singh Sidhu and Gurpreet Singh Kangar along with ex-MLA Jagdip Singh Nakai, as well as Amarjeet Singh Tikka are among the leaders who have been provided with the security cover, informed the Government sources.

Following an Intelligence Bureau (IB) report, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) raised the security cover of four BJP leaders in Punjab to the X-category. All four leaders had switched to the BJP after quitting Congress.
Earlier this month, five BJP leaders in Punjab received 'Y-category' security after an Intelligence Bureau (IB) report identified a threat.
