Amritsar temple grenade attack: Police arrest three suspects, expose BKI's narco-terror module
PTC Web Desk: In a significant breakthrough, the Amritsar police claim to have arrested three suspects in connection with the grenade attack at Thakurdwara temple in the Khandwala area of Amritsar. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar revealed that the attack was orchestrated by Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) as part of a narco-terror conspiracy.
During a press conference, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated that the police had successfully cracked the case, leading to the arrest of three from Bihar. The arrested suspects have been identified as Karandeep, Mukesh Kumar Yadav, and Sajan Singh, all of whom have links to the Khandwala and Chheharta areas of Amritsar.
According to police investigations, Karandeep is a known BKI member and was responsible for supplying grenades used in the attack. The arrested individuals were allegedly planning to flee to Nepal via Bihar, but the police intercepted and apprehended them before they could escape.
The suspects are currently being transported from Bihar to Amritsar, where further interrogations are expected to reveal more details about the terror network and its operations. The police have assured that those responsible for Friday night’s temple blast will be arrested soon.
The grenade explosion occurred late on Friday night at Thakurdwara temple. CCTV footage shows two masked attackers arriving on a motorcycle, throwing an explosive device towards the temple, and fleeing the scene immediately. Moments later, the explosion rocked the area, causing panic among residents.
Following the blast, the police secured the crime scene and retrieved CCTV footage as part of their investigation. The attack has heightened security concerns across the region, with the authorities stepping up surveillance and counter-terror measures.
The police are now working to trace further links of the narco-terror module and any other potential operatives involved in the attack. Officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
