PTC Web Desk: A wave of celebration swept through Manawala village in Rajasansi constituency of Amritsar as local youth, Maninder Pal Singh, returned home after being commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. Despite heavy rainfall, a large number of villagers gathered to welcome him with great enthusiasm, showering him with flowers, tying celebratory headgear, and dancing to the beat of traditional drums.

Maninder Pal's father, a retired Army serviceman, had long dreamed of seeing his son become an officer in the Indian Armed Forces. Raising his son alone after the loss of his wife, the father faced significant challenges, including financial difficulties, to ensure Maninder’s education. Despite these hardships, father and son remained determined, refusing to give up on their aspirations.

After initially failing to pass the NDA exam following his 12th grade, Maninder had planned to move abroad. He scored an impressive 8 bands in the IELTS exam and even filed for immigration to Canada. However, his determination to serve the country led to a change of heart, and he decided to pursue a career in the Indian Army instead.

After completing his B.Tech degree, Maninder secured a lucrative job offer with an annual package of Rs 14 lakh in Bengaluru, but continued to prepare for the Services Selection Board (SSB) exam. His hard work paid off when he cleared the SSB test on his first attempt, achieving his dream of becoming an Army officer.

In an emotional speech, Maninder Pal shared his journey of struggle and perseverance, urging the youth to consider staying in India and working hard to achieve success rather than seeking opportunities abroad.
