Ahead of Republic day, Punjab police cancels leaves of all officials till January 27
PTC News Desk: The Punjab police has cancelled leaves of all its officials till January 27. Director General of Punjab, Gaurav Yadav issued an official statement announced the decision stating, "No leave would be sanctioned to GOS, NGOs and EPOS during this period. All kinds of leaves sanctioned previously stand cancelled forthwith due to Republic Day functions on January 26.”
The leaves have been cancelled ahead of the Republic Day and heavy security arrangements along with huge police deployment will be in pace.
In response to the directive issued, IG Sukhchain Singh Gill said, 'The directives have been issued to ensure tight security arrangements on the eve of Republic Day. No official will be granted leave till January 27. Keeping in view of safety of the people, Punjab police will be on alrt mode 24 hours.
Notably, state level programmes will be held on January 26 across the state with top leaders in attendance for flag hoisting ceremony, hence tightened security arrangements in place.
